A famous guy once said philosophy begins with wonder. I believe all humans have it in them to experience wonder at the mysteries of the universe. It is encoded in our architecture — hence the title of this blog.
In fact, it is not for lack of curiosity and thirst for knowledge that we, as a species, have dwelt in ignorance for so long. Rather it is because of a weakness in our critical faculties, revealed by our attraction to easy answers.
Myths and legends are science in embryo: the questions were right, but the answers were too easy. “Thus the myth-lover is in a sense a philosopher, since myths are composed of wonders” (source).
This blog is a refuge for the inner Bayesian. It is a place for experiencing our native wonder without succumbing to the temptation for quick and easy explanations.
Let us first ask interesting questions and then worry about the answers.
